"Inspired by the works on paper of Albert Oehlen, Notes From My Face was created during the summer of 2017 after my wife and I relocated to Denver, CO from Brooklyn, NY.

We privately decided on this move long before our intentions were made public. During this time of transition, I decided I'd let my beard grow out.

A world away from our former lives, the imagery for this book emerged. Not drawn but photographed, these are the tangled, snarled detritus of fingers through facial hair -- the anxious gestural strokes of biological and geographic liminality."
